Postby SGreene_700 » Fri Aug 17, 2007 11:37 pm

8/17 bench day @Powerstation

warmed up to 315x3

added shirt
405x1 5brd
495x1 4brd
585x1 3brd
675x1 2brd
725x1 2brd
775x1 2brd (PR!!!w/Kennelly-like blood pouring from the nose....damn cpap machines...lol)

705 to touch No dumped
725 to touch yes but didnt press

Done. I happy w/the775 considering how tired I was, Smitty still kicked my ass with his 805. I'll get my chance at 805 at a later date. It was only my third workout in this shirt but it looks like 725 will be my opener, I didnt press it cuz I was toast but it'll touch and hopefully I'll be rested and ready to go meet day.

Nice work Steve! Thats a big PR for ya! Nice to know what will touch at least...if you get it moving, you will get it...judging by your strength on the 2 brd.

What was Smitty's ROM on the 2 brd? like 3"" lol

LOL!!!

Postby SGreene_700 » Mon Aug 20, 2007 12:40 am

LOL..yeah that fukker is so built for benching its sic. I still need more working with touching but nothing builds strength and acclamates the CNS to heavy weight like overloading that 2brd. As long as I dont dump it and get a shot at pressing it, I think I'll be fine too. Plus I'll have you and Smitty there coaching me thru the lift when my brains are trying to squirt out my ears at the bottom...lol

Did you actually say that preacher hammer curls "isolate"? WTF! You do understand that bodybuilders can't have pumpkins for heads right? Throws the symmetry off.....that keeps you out lol

8/24 Sub ME day

Postby SGreene_700 » Sat Aug 25, 2007 1:38 am

8/24 Sub ME day

Bench

Raw work
barx15
135x12
225x3
275x3
315x3
365x3
405x3
445x3
475x3

Pulldowns
5 sets

Band rows green
5 sets

Rear delts mm
5 sets

tons of pushdowns w/green band

Done! I was happy w/the 475X3 by myself but the third rep was tough. My shoulder didnt care for the lifting off to myself tonight kinda but nothing big. I prolly should've just worked up to 475 for a single like Yard did before the Pro Am as a deload week but I feel like I have to push harder cuz I havent done the numbers in the gym or the platform that , that freak has done. I feel stronger than I ever have, as always with geared benching the challenge will be my technique, hopefully I'll pull something off.

Im stoked for watching the big boyz and helping Paul and Smitty hit something big also. Paul is an anamoly and with his speed anything is possible. I expect alot more from Smitty too I dont even think he realizes his potential yet. Anyways time to chill for a week.

Steve is strong as hell raw. With his strength he should be hitting in the 8's right now....just have to get comfortable with the tech in a shirt and he will hit something good.

There should be a light going off over his head any time now...judging by his workouts....it's on, just dim right now lol

Thanks Rev and Thanks Paul . But you want read real raw strength read Travis Rogers log over on EFS....sic..sic..raw strength, to bad things didnt go his way at Kennys. It just goes to show people the challenge of shirt benching you can be one of the stronger ones there and still walk away with a BOMB!!! I do hope he gets Mendys raw record though.....competition is good for the sport.

And yes Paul the light is dim albeit very dim....lol. I feel like Im on the cusp of something decent. Im not talking Yardlike or Luyandolike just a decent number...something to put me "in the game". I've been at it so many years with so many challenges and obstacles and have struggled so much with shirt benching, I 've just realized its definately not always about strength some things just come easier for some than others. But hopefully the bench Godz will smile on me for just one day...just one day....its been sssoooooo long...LOL!!!!

nahhhh

Postby SGreene_700 » Fri Sep 07, 2007 9:58 pm

Naaahh not really, I felt kinda jacked up in my right shoulder. My shoulder missed that goofy bencher8 guy giving me a liftoff so I took it easy. Im not gonna do the Michigan meet but I may do that Lexen meet Oct. 6th.....shhhh! dont tell Bill its IPA sanctioned...lol. I just gotta play whatever game is close to home, know what I mean? Like I told Paul I'd like another shot @725-735 before I shut down for the year, we're both looking for alittle redemption....bombing stings bad when you're right at lockout.

I probably should have done the same. Matt wanted to deadlift Wed so I said what the hey and did some pulls after not DL-ing for months... Now I tweaked something in my left shoulder. Don't think it's anything serious tho, thankfully.

I know what you mean Steve about missing right at lockout. I did it twice tho not a bomb out, but still kept me from doing what I wanted to do at Carp's meet. I am also looking for a little redemption before the year is out!!
