Good work Steve. You hit it pretty high, and still muscled the weight up. You know you can touch in that shirt, now it will be time for some overload on that 2 board.

1/25/2008

The week in review

Tuesday night
bunch of boring band stuff for back

did some yanks
120x15x3

blah...blah

Friday night

Bench RAWW!!
barx20
95x15
135x12
185x5
225x5
275x2
315x2
365x2
405x2
435x2
455x2

6 sets of cuff work

High band rows green
4 sets

rear delts mm
4 sets

band pullaparts
4 sets

green band presses (somethin ghey I do for my shoulder)
4 sets

band pushdowns
8 sets

done. I havent handed off to myself with the barbell for months, not bad considering last year 475x3 was my best and were early in the season and I did 455x2. The shoulder still didnt care for it a lot, but that just means I need to up my "pre-workout pain-killer cocktail". Like I've said tho for years now, I dont need to do 405 for reps every week to maintain a 500+ raw bench. I'd like to do this raw barbell work about 1 out of every 4 workouts when I'm by myself. Thats basically benching raw by myself once every two months at the most.

2/1 ME bench @ Powerstation

Postby SGreene_700 » Fri Feb 01, 2008 10:29 pm

2/1 ME bench @Powerstation

warmed up to
405x2 raw

added shirt:
500x2 no brds
635x2 2brd
700x1 2brd
765x1 2brd
810x1 2brd (35lb. PR! )

Face pulls
5 sets

Donesky!Great workout, thats the first time Ive done 800 or more of free weight on any board. They said it looked like I had another 20-30lbs. in me, I dont know about that, but it did feel easier than the 765. One more shirt workout before the Rob Luyando Circleville Benchfest meet. I'll work up to my 675 opener in 2 weeks and that'll be it until meet day. Btw 750mgs. of Aleve preworkout can help with some old bum shoulder pain. I didnt even have to throw any vicodin in there....lol.

Postby SGreene_700 » Fri Feb 01, 2008 11:34 pm

LOL!! I dont think so Paul Ive got a long way to go before catching the likes of you. As you know 810 to the chest is a lot tougher than to a 2brd. But I better get that 700 this year so I can hang with you elite guys and carry yur wrist wraps..lol.

Nice work Steve! You will be hitting 800 Plus soon! If you can do it off a two brd with a little advice on a super bloat you will be able to hit it full range!

If my memory stands correctly we tried to teach you the ways and you ended up wondering around Wal-Mart in a daze. Force feeding and 8lbs bags and an endless supply of hatoraide is only for the true freaks. But I think Steve is on his way!

That was pretty funny--watching big Paul stagger around Wal Mart, licking his lips every 3 seconds. He was on another planet for about 10 minutes, LOL. Steve and I finally had to make him drink some chocolate milk before he payed. Good Times. LOL.

Get this guy a Kleenex! :baby: LOL! If you would have been hospitalized it wouldn't have been funny but since you lived to tell about it and Steve and Smitty witnessed it we will laugh about it! LOL! That is the down side of putting a super bloat on when you haven't cut weight. Trick is you have to keep force feeding. That would have prevented the crash. We will work on it again when you come to Dubuque for the Power weekend.

ME bench 7/29

Postby SGreene_700 » Fri Feb 29, 2008 10:30 pm

ME bench 7/29 @ Powerstation

warmed up to 405x2 raw

added shirt
500x3 no brd
585x2 2brd
675x2 2brd
710x1 1brd

6 sets of high face pulls

Done. Sets felt controlled and deliberate. Felt good to get right back on the horse again after Sundays horrific benching. I should'nt have done the meet but what the hell. In the past week, I've went from Amoxicillin,to a Z-pack, to now Ciproflaxin, I felt much better today, not 100% but a 1000% better than Sunday. I will achieve my goals or I will die trying.
