I did some light squats and cardio yesterday ,today cardio and some light upper body work later. Ya Pops I am lifting in the full meet raw at nationals.
squats are going very well was going to go to Des Moines and train on the monolift but something came up so next week will work better. Still just in knee sleeves will put my wraps on next week.
My bench is way up 425 will be my opener. Just did a downset from here because I pulled my pec a lil 2 weeks ago and wanted to be sure it didnt pull again. And my program has me at 450 next week 475 week after and 500 following week.
Actually, I was being serious. For someone to press 455 raw is pretty damn good. And I don't need to talk shit. I think you and I both know, I can hold my own. But hey, good luck and maybe we will meet sometime on the platform and that way we can let the numbers do the talking.
I did a light back workout on Saturday with some abs. Monday I did a mini meet workout lasted about 2 hours and finished with a 640 squat a 640 dead and a 460 bench press. 1740 total. All were very easy for me and very fast. My bodyweight has been coming down wich is good I am 265 today. Gonna try and get back to 262 in next couple weeks so I have only a 20lb cut to make.
Just did a light back workout and some ab work. Got my weight down to 263 so I am in good shape. Kind of funny really my cardio is through the roof right now and I dont really do any. I get a lot of walking in at my job weekly just slow paced. Been pretty disciplined with my diet which is also helping my cardio. Gonna bench tomorrow.
Next monday will be the peak of my training in preparation for the meet. Will do another mini gym meet. Plan is to squat 675 deadlift 675 and bench between 450 and 480 depending on how I feel.
Bench woked up to 445 for a single probably some where around my second attempt I dont think I am gonna have 5 at this one. Probably try and finish up around 470 475
The meet went pretty well. Bench was garbage but I squat and pulled pretty well. Ended up pulling 677 on my second attempt. Squatted 600 on my second attempt. Was red lighted for depth on a 3rd attempt of 655. All in all a good meet. Lots of good lifting friday with Jake and John from north iowa powerlifting looking freak strong. Jake will get the 242 record just a matter of when. Saturday lots of impressive raw lifting. Things seem pretty small though when thinking about Bill's friend Jason who fell at the after hour party hope he gets well soon.
